Shakira dedicated her life to singing and making albums since she first appeared in the Latin music scene back in 1991 when she made her debut album Magia and came up with a second album entitled Peligro in 1993. But Shakira made her first acting debut in 1994 when she appeared in the Colombian telenovela El Oasis where she played the character role of Luisa Maria.
She made the lyrics and co-wrote the music for two new songs that were featured in the movie Love in the Time of Cholera, a big screen adaptation from the acclaimed novel by Colombian author Gabriel Garcia Marquez. It was he who personally requested Shakira to write the songs for the film’s soundtrack. These songs are “Pienso en ti” taken from her breakthrough album Pies Descalzos, “Hay Amores” and her Golden Globe nominated song “Despedida”.
She may not be dedicating that much time in TV or movie acting but she sure has a long line of albums and songs under her belt and this sexy Latina songstress is out to make the world fall for her disarming charm and alluring voice.
